Anna Sellberg

Swedish author. Born in 1964 and lives in Upsalla in Sweden with her family, dogs, cats and rats! She also owns horses. Like many pony authors, she started young, with her first book being published when she was a teenager. She now writes pony books for the Pony Club/Stabenfeldt publishers. Most of these  were originally published by the Swedish arm of the publishers but were then published in English language in the USA. She appears to have written other pony stories which haven't been translated. (More on this when I have done more research.) As well as writing, she also works as a translator and as a bus driver!

She has her own website which is in Swedish but can be translated (roughly) by Google.

Sara Series:
Adventure-orientated pony series with a slightly older heroine than the norm. Not served by a very good translation.

SUMMARY: Sara is worried about a lost and unkempt horse wandering around the district. She sets out to help and then discovers the horse may be connected with the recent disappearance of a number of race horses.

4) SARA AND THE CRYING CLOWN

SUMMARY: When Sara and her sister and friend are staying alone at her grandparent's Shetland Pony farm, they are threatened by a mysterious clown. Not for those of us with clown phobias!!!

5) WATCH OUT SARAH!

SUMMARY: Sarah makes a new friend Molly, whose family own racehorses. But the girl's fun is spoilt by the unpleasant trainer George. They soon begin to wonder if he is hiding a guilty secret…

All originally published in Swedish by Stabenfeldt., then reprinted by Stabenfeldt in English language.  Although easy to find in the USA, they are hard to get hold of elsewhere.

Although fairly easy to find in the USA, they are hard to get hold of elsewhere. The author did write more books about the character of Mia in Swedish but not sure if they were ever reprinted in English language.
